Pinhão is located at the heart of the Douro Valley. In this small town, you can find a big number of wine producers, small and major wine cellars that focus on Port wine production. As small as the town may be, it is the center of almost 400,000 tourist visits each year.
It is possible to travel to this region by both, or train. Here, you can find one of the oldest train rails that Portugal has to offer. And, enjoy a nice train ride in the middle of vineyards. The region has a lot of wine tourism activities, as well as rural accommodation to stay in and enjoy a natural, free, and completely amazing environment where to stay.
The region is also known for its amazing train station that is coated with Portuguese typical tiles, which makes this station an unique and important place to visit.
